A Day in the Life of Checkers the Dog

I feel that my dog Checkers was an interesting subject because while she simply laid on our couch, an  action she partakes in on a daily basis, when the angle and shot size changed her facial expressions were  slightly different and she even changed her pose which showed her personality. I was inspired by the Penelope Tree image in her living room and thought I would do something similar and frame my dog in our living room, a place she frequents often. I wanted the pictures to have a relaxed vibe. I feel the black and white photos are somewhat melancholy as my dog is older so it could appear that she is tired and potentially bored. I feel the ones in color are more playful and that Checkers is more curious as the camera was closer to her in the frame. I didn't pose Checkers in any way, I wanted it to look like a snapshot as if I was walking throuh my living room and I thought Checkers looked cute, so I stopped to take a picture. I feel this shows that simplicity can be beautiful because it is a dog laying on a couch, but so many people come home to this type of image and depend on their animals to be there and when I look at these images they spark joy, so my hope is they bring a smile to the viewers face.
